Mal Henderson - Infrastructure and Cloud Architect

I am a passionate Infrastructure Architect who believes in building solutions for my clients, as if they were my own.

Always looking for more efficient ways to do things and using APIs and scripting I have recently reduced the patching of my client’s Windows estate from weeks to hours.

I have many years experience in design, planning, implementation and support of high quality, resilient Desktop and Server Virtualisation Solutions, using VMWare vSphere, VMWare Horizon View on Dell, HP and Cisco UCS platforms with EMC and Nimble Storage Arrays.

I was a senior member of the team responsible for the design, build and support of a Telco’s Datacenter SDN solution using Cisco ACI. They were the first Telco to migrate their Fixed and Mobile Voice networks onto Cisco ACI. I was also responsible for upgrading the ACI Fabric without any downtime in services and for training and mentoring colleagues on the ACI and UCS environment.

I am also passionate about voice and data networking and security. I have many years project managing and building large scale, optimised networks using Cisco Routers and Switches, configuring vlans, trunks, etherchannels, port security, QOS and spanning tree.

I am also proficient in EIGRP, OSPF and BGP Routing Protocols and securing networks and perimeters with Checkpoint Gateways and Cisco ASAs. I also build secure connectivity solution using Mobile and Site to Site VPNs and DMVPNs.

I also have twenty years experience with Microsoft Products. Designing and building Active Directory Domains, ADFS, Group Policy, Remote Desktop Services, DHCP and DNS. I also deploy messaging solutions with Microsoft Exchange and the migration of messaging solutions between and onto Exchange.

I am a Red Hat Certified System Administrator and have deployed web, mail, NTP, DNS, DHCP, load balancers and proxy server on Red Hat and Centos.

I like to provide support and training for colleagues in the areas of IT, Security and IP Voice and Data Networking.
